Service Description

Play therapy is an evidence based intervention that can help children work through a variety of issues using the healing power of play. Play is the developmentally appropriate mental health intervention for young children in order to help them heal, grow, recover, and learn. During a play therapy session the play therapist meets with the child in a room specifically for young children. This room is full of toys, art supplies, and games specifically selected to help children express themselves in developmentally appropriate ways. Occasionally the play therapist will invite the parent to join in the play therapy session. For more information about play therapy, go to www.A4PT.org.
