Service Description

Parenting is hard! Kids don’t come with instructions and every single kid is different. When a parent begins to worry about their child it is time to seek help. Parent’s are not meant to know how to solve or understand every single issue that their child faces. Therefore, sometimes you need an expert to help give you insight, education, skills, and encouragement. Parent coaching aims to assess what is going on that’s got you worried and determine if the best intervention is for your child to be in therapy or for you to receive parent coaching. Increasing your understanding of your child, increasing your feelings of competence and confidence in parenting, showing you how to make small and big changes to support your child at home, and improving parent resourcefulness are only some of the ways parent coaching can help. Other areas parent coaching can address include: helping parents navigate psychological evaluations for their child, school (504) accommodations, IEP’s, psychopharmaceuticals for your child, school choice, life changes (divorce, grief, trauma), and differences in parenting styles between you and your spouse or ex-spouse.
